Automated welcome message to greet new translators to the Open Translation Project is provided by an external script called Unnabot, created by Unnawut Leepaisalsuwanna. By setting up a welcome message for your language you can give transcribers and translators their first information on how the platform works and where they can learn more on transcribing and translating, Language Coordinators and Language Groups, and other OTP related information. In order to set up your welcome message for your language, you need to email Unnawut Leepaisalsuwanna or translate@ted.com with the following information:

  1. Welcome message body and title.
  2. Your Amara username.
  3. Your Amara API key, found in your account page. This is for unnabot to send a message on your behalf.

  • This information is indended for Language Coordinators. Only one LC for each language, needs to set up a welcome message.
