I am one of TEC.com's translators.

I live in Quebec, Canada, and French is my mother tongue. I learned English during my teenage, and I have several English-speaking friends. My boyfriend is half-Irish, half-French Quebecer. I have a B.A. in French literature and transation form Mc Gill University and a Master Degree in translation from Université de Montréal. I'm 45 years old. In the past, I worked as a translator, proofreader, writer and screenwriter. For the past 5 years, I've been working full-time as an adaptor, that is, I translate movies from English to French for dubbing purposes. I work for Technicolor and other post-production studios. I've translated several cartoon and TV series such as "The Borgias", "The Pillars of Earth" and "The Kennedys", and movies such as "Inception", "Moneyball", "Rum Diary", "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and I'm presently working on "The Grey" with Liam Neeson. You can see other movies I worked on at http://www.doublage.qc.ca/p.php?i=167&adaptateur=68

I speak, write and read French and English everyday, both personally and professionally. I'm also a yoga teacher and I teach in both languages. I've been watching TED.com for several years now and I'm very inspired by the themes and speakers. I would feel very privileged to contribute to the spreading of great ideas for a better world through the francophone community and the opportunity the be one of TED's translators would also motivate me to explore further your amazing content. Would really love to attend your annual conference one day :)
