Denk aan de Gouden Eeuw van de islam. Toen werd er volop vertaald. Ze vertaalden uit het Latijn en Grieks, in het Arabisch, in het Perzisch. En dan werd het verder vertaald naar de Germaanse en Romaanse talen van Europa. Zo kwam er verlichting in het Europa van de Middeleeuwen.
